Our Team

  • BEN

The Millers have been a part of Stoa since 2019. Ben is passionate about helping teens become next-level speakers and debaters. Ben sees himself serving in Stoa long after his youngest graduates. Having spent over 25 years in the construction industry, he recently launched his own architectural drawing and engineering business, which gives him the continued freedom to coach with Legacy Speech and Debate.

Married for 22 years, Ben and his wife, Anna, are blessed with four amazing kids, a son-in-law, and a grandson. As a family, outdoor adventures, like camping and hunting, are a big part of their lives.

  • ANNA

Anna believes STOA speech and debate goes much deeper than students simply competing. Her goal is to help students realize they are learning skills for their future selves and for the calling and message inside of them. She believes in students long before they believe in themselves, helping them grow in confidence and step into who they were created to be.

She is passionate about helping students speak truth with confidence and conviction. She believes every student has a message worth sharing, and her heart is to help them find their voice and communicate it boldly and clearly.

For Anna, coaching goes beyond speech and debate. She cares deeply about helping students grow in character, think critically, communicate clearly, and carry themselves with honor, value, and respect both on and off the platform.

In her spare time, she enjoys grandmaing, babysitting, the outdoors, and coaching.

  • MINDY

Mindy is a STOA alumni who competed for three years. She loved the competition itself, as well as the skills it builds for a lifetime. The confidence and communication skills she gained carried into her sales career, helping her speak with clarity, connect with people, and present herself well.

Now, Mindy is a stay-at-home mom and wife with a one-year-old boy and another baby boy on the way. Outside of family life, she loves camping, being outdoors, baking, scrapbooking, and spending time with the people she loves.

Mindy’s strong points are teaching impromptu speaking and platform speeches. She loves connecting with students in a way that helps them recognize their strengths, grow in confidence, and see what they are truly capable of. Speech and Debate will always hold a special place in her heart, and she is passionate about helping students strengthen their voices and see the potential they already have inside them

  • DAVID

Having spent five years honing his own speech and debate skills as a part of Stoa, David is an alumnus who brings a store of knowhow and experience to Legacy Speech and Debate. Loving to be challenged himself and also having the opportunity to challenge others, he looks forward to helping students reach their potential and take their speaking abilities to the next level.

Alongside coaching and completing his requirements and training to become a pilot, you can also find David out-of-doors where he loves many sports and activities, including, but not limited to, camping and hunting.

  • Priscilla

Priscilla is an alumni from Stoa. She competed for 5 years, and now coaches students as they navigate through their stoa competitions.

Throughout her stoa career she learned so much and grew in her confidence, research skills, and communication skills. She loved her time in stoa because of the growth and learning, and also because of the community.

She now loves coaching because she gets to pour into students and give them some of the knowledge that she gained through her own competitions.

She loves to get to know students personally and help them gain confidence, improve their skills through speeches, and learn to speak more boldly.

Priscilla is currently in college working towards getting her Elementary Education degree. She loves teaching kids and teenagers and helping them achieve their goals.

She runs her own bakery business making bread and pastries with sourdough. She enjoys being outside whether that’s going on a hike or just sitting in the sun. Most of all though, she loves Jesus!
